So you can’t transfer data from your Note Air 2 to another device. The big problem is that Onyx doesn’t allow users to use third-party software to access backed-up notes. On-page annotation isn’t perfect, though. The plastic layer is textured to feel like paper when brushed with the stylus. There’s a plastic layer covering the glass screen of the Note Air 2. You can then copy and paste the converted characters into apps. Users can also use Optical Character Recognition in their notes, which converts handwriting into digital text. Onyx’s app then stores the notes in its cloud app or through DropBox. Annotating eBooks is easy: you can just run Onyx’s NeoReader app by opening an eBook. But it has a trick that its competitors aren’t particularly good at: it can take notes directly onto eBooks. The big 10-inch screen makes the Note Air 2 great for both reading and taking notes. The weight difference between the Note Air 2 and the original Note Air is negligible thanks to the Note Air 2’s additional textured plastic layer on top of the glass. But the differences are nearly unnoticeable. However, in this case, the plastic substrate weighs less and is more durable, compared to a glass substrate in an E Ink Carta panel. Normally, Mobius screens get used in flexible displays. The substrate runs behind the glass screen. While its competitors use a similar panel, the difference is that the Mobius screen uses a plastic substrate. As such, the Note Air 2's midrange Snapdragon 662 is one of the fastest eReaders on today’s market.įurthermore, the 1872 x 1404 resolution E Ink Mobius panel has one of the best “pixel” densities of 227 pixels-per-inch (PPI). ![]() Android eReaders, however, need more processing power, particularly when multitasking between apps. Since my personal Wiki is based purely on text files, OneNote makes a good comparnion and linking to pages there is a must for me.EReader hardware isn't comparable to smartphone processors because eBooks aren’t resource-intensive. (For me, I keep a lot of OneNote-page specific links in my personal Wiki. This makes all existing onenote:// link useful. It covers how to open a specific OneNote page over ADB from a Windows PC. Now that we are serious about OneNote, you may find this post relevant. Then, under Eink Center \ App Optimization \ Scribble -> there is a toggle button for such option.) Like all other Boox's features, you'll need to know what you are doing - here, to apply their OneNote optimization, it takes quite a long way to enable the "Handwriting Optimization" feature ofr OneNote. Still, OneNote are usable on all three tablets. For Lumi 2 and Nova Air, since they are now a year old, the refresh speed is not as fast as the Tab Ultra. Yes, Boox has the best OneNote integration among other eink tablets, to the best of my knowledge (comparing Bigme, Dasung 103 vs Boox Tab Ultra, Lumi 2 and Nova Air). ![]() Or, say, had this been fixed before 3.2.3? My friends, do you find the same magic happening to your Boox tablets for writing in OneNote? I wish so, and wonder why don't Boox mention it in their 3.2.3 update. ![]() And, should I play it "fair" by stop making contact with the tablet completely, the Staedtler pen can also erase well. Though, the distance is far less compared to previous firmware versions. For the Staedtler pen, if I leave the hand resting on the tablet and only flip it to erase, the canvas will move a bit. When it comes to erasing things, Lamy triggered 0 palm rejection issue since it has the erase button on the pen.First, both writes really well - I can keep writing a full line from left to right, and the canvas won't move at all.If we leave the responsiveness issue aside, the palm rejection alone is even better than what I experience on a Surface 7 tablet.Īccessories: my Lumi 2 has a screen protector from Doodroo, and I tested both the Lamy EMR pen and the Noris digital jumbo from Staedtler. I'm with Firmware 3.2.3 on a Lumi 2 tablet, and the writing experience is now really good. Can we call it a day, and thank Boox for fixing the palm rejection issue for OneNote?
